Human Solar Panel Runs the Bolder Boulder

Josh "SPR-225" Runs the Bolder Boulder - Hogs Limelight - Daily Camera Takes Notice

Being one of the oddities — and not being one of the best runners — was the main motivation for Josh Colyer who works for Boulder’s Independent Power Systems.

Hey buddy, you wanna buy some solar?

He ran the whole race dressed as a solar panel, which is no small accomplishment. The 6-foot-by-3-foot panel, which he constructed in five hours using cardboard, garbage bags and silver markers, had a body-sized hole in the middle that Colyer straddled as he ran.

He was able to run OK, he said, for someone who doesn’t call running his passion. “It’s more so about the solar,” he said.
