SOLAR PANELS AT COLORADO COLLEGE

Independent Power designed and installed a 24.6 kW commercial solar array on the roof of the Edith Gaylord apartments on the Colorado College campus in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The system is estimated to generate 36,118 kWh per year, which is the equivalent of planting 539 trees or offsetting 23 tons of carbon dioxide annually. The Colorado College solar panels are expected to pay for themselves within ten years thanks to the energy savings and generous commercial solar incentives such as the Federal Investment Tax Credit and MACRS depreciation.
